edgeConnect is a run-time and development environment for the creation and execution of browser based applications that can be On-line (rich or thin client), Off-line, Portal and Composite.

Presentation Layer
edgeConnect focuses on the “Presentation Layer” allowing business analysts to create browser based applications without the need for knowing script languages like Active Server Pages or Java Server Pages. In addition to this the user is shielded from development considerations for online, offline, portal and composite applications.

Reduced Development Time
edgeConnect provides the capability to auto generate screens from Databases, XML Schema and Web Service definitions (WSDL), thereby dramatically accelerating development times.

Write Once, Publish Multiple Times
By enforcing the separation of look and feel (Presentation), business logic (Process) and data (Integration) solutions developed automatically provide a level of re-usability and best practice approach to application development/architecture. This separation means that a process can have multiple presentations. Any change to a process is propagated across all presentations of a process (users may have many presentations to support multiple brands, channels, users, languages or user experiences (on/offline, portal, composite). As integration is separated, processes are not affected by change in data sources e.g. moving from Sql Server to DB2.

Document Generation
edgeConnect automates non-development aspects of the project lifecycle by generating documentation (business functional design and test scripts) for the solutions produced.

edgeConnect provides release management and version control facilities to co-ordinate multi-developer teams.
